My home is in Bozeman, Montana, where I live with my wife and young son. I studied photography at MSU in the late 1990s, having grown up in Western Washington — but it was the backcountry skiing, rock climbing, and ice climbing of Southwest Montana that changed everything for me at 18. Adventure on public lands taught me how important it is to live in harmony with the natural world. This collection of Montana landscape photography prints is my attempt to share that feeling with you — to bring you closer to the land through the images I've made in it. Over the last fifteen years, my work has taken me to some of the planet's most remote mountain ranges: from the Hyalite Canyon drainage in my own backyard to the high ranges of Nepal, the glaciers of Chamonix, and beyond. The fine art mountain prints in this collection contain moments that compelled me to chase shadows and light across wild terrain. Each one began with something I felt standing in a place — and ends, I hope, with something you feel looking at it on your wall. Alongside traditional landscape work, I've developed an experimental practice using Polaroid Emulsion Transfer — a handmade analog process that produces tactile, imperfect prints unlike anything digital. The Bozeman Montana wall art in the Street Signs series came directly out of this practice, as did the Hyalite Canyon emulsion work. Bringing pixels to paper is an entirely different experience — one that brings my audience closer to connecting with the land.
